In medieval times, surplus wheat was used to brew this delicious beer. Thank goodness for that extra grain. This unfiltered wheat is by far our most popular. Slightly sweet because of the mild hops, Summer Brew is the perfect beer to cool off and refresh the thirstiest palates on the island. Fat Man's Friend - A Great Beer In 1873, '74 and '75, The Fat Man's Association met at Put-in-Bay for athletic competitions. John Templeton, who weighed in at 460 pounds, was the president of The Fat Man's Association. He lost 8 pounds in the 1874 competition. We are certain the Club would enjoy a "Fat Man's Friend" between events. Roasted malts give "Fat Man's Friend" a rich flavor and dark amber color. Brewed with Hallartan and Northern Brewer Hops, "Fat Man's Friend" is sure to please any dark beer fan with its robust flavor and smooth clean finish. Ole Cotton Top Irish Red Cotton Duggan was the last commercial fisherman on Lake Erie and a grand historian of Put-in-Bay. This man lived a long and prosperous life into his 90's. Put-in-Bay was lucky to have a man like Cotton, as well as for the many Duggans who are still a great part of the community. We loved the man....You'll love the beer. Smooth Ole Cotton Top has a deep red color and a light malt flavor. Lightly hopped with a hint of Rye, this IRISH RED is an island favorite.
